I thought I'd do the same with this blog.

I've been a long time jealous of bloggers. In my eyes the blog is fantastic. It is a place for an amateur to appear as more than he is. My thought will be posted online. The goings on of my life will find a home. I probably see the blog as more than it really is, but I refuse to let reality of the thing dilute my aspirations of writing.
The last thing I wrote was a personal statement for medical school applications. It went well, but I felt I had to cloack my true writing style in order to make my essay coherent. This blog should be a nice mix between my journal (which has a brazenly individual style - but as a result may be incoherent to an outsider) and my personal statement.
Like I was saying, I've been a long time jealous of bloggers because they have a medium through which to express what is important to them. This blog will be no different. It was important to me to start a blog, so I started it. It also works out nice because 1. I finally got a gmail account and 2. I have had that name, 'Almost Barrattise,' in my head for some time, but before today I hadn't been able to use it. Take Me Down to the Barrattise City is another name that came to mind, but it is verbose and enshrouded in controversial opinions regarding Axle Rose and Slash.
I will enjoy writing this blog.
